2nd Bird Flu Case

The patient entered the emergency room of Siloam Gleneagles Hospital on July 7th 2005 at 06.10 am. He has breathing discomfort, fever, and cough with mucous production since 2 weeks. His condition: moderate illness and fully concious (compos mentis).

Case of Bird Flu (2nd) - Mr. ISR, 38 years
The patient took a chest X-ray on June 29th 2005, one day after his daughter enter the hospital. At that time he complaint for cough without fever. Then, The patient entered the emergency room of Siloam Gleneagles Hospital on July 7th 2005 at 06.10 am. He has breathing discomfort, fever, and cough with mucous production since 2 weeks. His condition: moderate illness and fully concious (compos mentis). Blood pressure 130/80 mmHg, heart rate 124/min, temperature 39C, respiratory rate 34/min. Lung sounds vesicular with ronchi at both sides, no wheezing. From laboratory findings, there were leucopenia (2,310), increased SGOT and SGPT (195 and 151). At that time he had been diagnosed with bronchopneumonia and treated with nasal oxygen 3 liter per minute, antibiotics , aminophyiline infusion (140 mg/8 hrs) & nebulizers.
